Design Notes
Inspired by Scandinavian design, Bergen Satin cutlery has pared back details and clean lines. The full satin finish adds to the Scandinavian aesthetic and gives this design a soft patina and a subtle differentiation. The pinch or waist feature on the pieces creates a contemporary silhouette.

Care & Need to Know
We recommend washing your cutlery/flatware in the dishwasher:
• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.
*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus.
When washing your Cutlery/Flatware by hand:
Rinse cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.
**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.
To restore your finish on your cutlery/flatware we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Design Story: Bergen
As a student silversmith Robert Welch became inspired by the work of contemporary Scandinavian designers: “Scandinavia loomed large as an influence in the mid-1950s; the philosophy (…) so popular at that time, designing simple, everyday objects that were functional and beautiful and which most people could afford, greatly appealed to me.” Welch, R. (1986.) Hand & Machine, p.16
Nearly 70 years on the Scandinavian aesthetic and ethos are as much of an inspiration to today's design team as they ever were to Robert, and the material we specialise in owes its origins to the education he got whilst visiting during the 1950s.
