At Robert Welch we treat our customers’ safety with the utmost care and take our social responsibility very seriously and we will do everything possible to ensure that our bladed items are delivered to the correct recipient. Changes to UK law mean that all knives, including cutlery knives, have now become 18+ Age Restricted Items. As part of this commitment, we will perform a check on all Age Restricted sales and deliveries of a bladed item using Agechecked. The Age Verification process is automatic and in the background, you won’t even know it is happening

How Does It Work?

We utilise Agechecked.com's specialised software to verify your age. Simply complete your order on our website as usual, following the prompts and submitting your order information. As part of the order process, some automatic checks will be carried out. It’s that easy.

What If I Don't Pass?

If a check cannot be performed automatically, your order information will be sent to a member of our Customer Care Team, who will contact you to send a manual Agechecked link so that you can complete the procedure using their portal and release your order. These links will be provided to you via email, so don't be alarmed if you receive correspondence from us.

Is My Data Safe?

We at Robert Welch and Agechecked understand the importance of data protection, which is why they ensure all your identity is kept anonymous via their tokenised solution based on the British Standard code of practise PAS:1296.  No personal data is kept on their system.  As soon as your age or identity is confirmed, they will wipe the information.

Will it affect my delivery?

Any order will not be shipped until the age checking process is complete. We also have an age check delivery policy for an extra level of security. When DPD completes our deliveries they will use ‘Think 25’ which means if the person taking the delivery looks younger than 25, they will be asked to provide ID proving they are aged 18 or over.
