Care & Need to Know

We recommend washing your cutlery/flatware in the dishwasher:
• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.
*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus.

When washing your Cutlery/Flatware by hand:
Rinse cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.

**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.

To restore your finish on your cutlery/flatware we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Design Story: Iona

Design Story: Iona

Iona cutlery was Paul deBretton Gordon’s first cutlery design for Robert Welch. The pattern is beautifully engineered so that the slim, straight handle, supported by a wider bolster on the knife, has a subtly flat cross section to balance the pieces without interrupting the line.

Now Design Director, Paul recalls that the brief was for a "thin, pencil-like handle. A great concept, but not without its challenges". His analytical approach led to the creation of a timeless design; this pattern has been in the collection for many years and remains one of the most popular.
