Design notes

The 450ml Drift teapot is part of the Drift tea collection which offers a range of pieces designed with afternoon tea in mind. Suitable for serving an individual pot of tea, the small Drift teapot would make the perfect gift for the tea lover.

Our Drift Collection, including the tea set, was the winner of a Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2019.

Designed to conjure a feeling of fluid movement, the organic shapes and reflective, polished surfaces of the Drift Collection enhance any setting. The Drift Teapots feature guaranteed non-drip spouts, stay cool, integrated handles and a secure removable lid. Classic proportions and fluid curves create the ultimate union of form and function.

Whatever the occasion, elevate it with our extensive Drift Collection; including candle holders, salt and pepper shakers, pinch pots, bowls, trays, pitchers and collection of barware.

Small tea infuser sold separately.

Technical information

Care & need to know

We recommend washing your Drift Barware and Tea Collection in the dishwasher:

• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.

*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus

When washing your Drift Barware and Tea Collection by hand:
Rinse your Drift barware, tea collection or glassware as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking in water and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.

**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.

Design Story: Drift Teapot (2017)

Design Story: Drift Teapot (2017)

Inspired by natural shapes, the organic curves of the Drift teapot are seamless. Head of Design, Kit deBretton Gordon explains ‘Tea has been enjoyed over many centuries and we wanted to produce a collection that reflected that sense of continuity’. She took further inspiration from Robert Welch's designs for teapots in the archive. The Drift Teapot is the most recent in a long tradition of stainless-steel tableware; Robert's first design consultancy was to Old Hall Tableware, creators of the world’s first stainless steel teapot in 1930.
