Design Notes

Skye Bright Textured cutlery has a slim and elegant profile which is well balanced and comfortable to use.

The handles of Skye have flat profiles, which feature a texture inspired by the traditional silversmith’s technique of long hammer planishing. This texture gently fades towards the tapering blade of each knife and the handling faces are smooth for comfort in use. In ambient settings, light bounces off the different facets of the textured handles and the smooth knife blades.

Inspiration note: Mix and match our Skye Bright Textured cutlery and Iona Bright cutlery ranges to create a unique and personal table setting.

Care & Need to Know

We recommend washing your cutlery/flatware in the dishwasher:
• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.
*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus.

When washing your Cutlery/Flatware by hand:
Rinse cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.

**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.

To restore your finish on your cutlery/flatware we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Design Story: Skye

Design Story: Skye

Inspiration for the texture of Skye was drawn from traditional silversmithing techniques, as well as from the slim handle of the design onto which it was to be applied. The silversmith's technique of long hammer planishing accentuates the shape of the cutlery making the surface cohesive to the whole.

The flat profile of the handle provides a perfect canvas for texture, the application of which is designed to fade gently towards the tapering neck or blade of each piece. Light reflects from the many different facets to create a subtle yet eye-catching design.
