Design Notes
Inspired by the clean lines of modernist architecture, Blockley Bright cutlery is a slender, linear cutlery pattern. Each piece has a distinctive hollow running down the length of the handle which catches and reflects light. Blockley Bright cutlery has been created to be perfectly balanced and satisfying to hold and use, with no uncomfortable edges.
This pared back, linear design is an unusual departure for Robert Welch Designs, known for organic forms. Blockley is a straight forward, minimalist pattern with no fussy detailing, decidedly suited to the contemporary table.

Care & Need to Know
We recommend washing your cutlery/flatware in the dishwasher:
• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.
*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus.
When washing your Cutlery/Flatware by hand:
Rinse cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.
**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.
To restore your finish on your cutlery/flatware we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Design Story: Blockley
In 1961, Robert Welch bought a plot of land, the former kitchen Garden of Alveston Leys near Stratford-upon-Avon. He worked with London architects, Elie Mayorcas and Patrick Guest to create a one-storey, modernist house. His home reflected his central design ethos - economy of form, priority of function, but not at the expense of aesthetics.
The pared back, linear design of Blockley has firm foundations in Robert Welch’s legacy. As with all of Robert Welch designs, inspiration does not impose on functionality and each pattern is created to be perfectly balanced and satisfying to hold and use.
