Design Notes
Radford Silver Plated cutlery is a modern classic, which owes its origins to the contours and balance of traditional eighteenth century English cutlery design, a heritage which imbues it with timeless appeal.
The pattern is an evolution of Premier, originally designed in 1984 by Robert Radford Welch as a modern equivalent to the shape and weight of Georgian cutlery. It was restyled, renamed and relaunched in his memory in 2003 and has been added to with individual extra pieces ever since, making it our most extensive range.
Radford Cutlery achieved the internationally acclaimed German Design Award in 2020.

Care & Need to Know
We recommend hand washing your silverplate cutlery/flatware:
Rinse your cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water carefully with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Do not soak your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing with a microfibre cloth.
**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.
We recommend polishing your silver plated cutlery/flatware twice per year to maintain its finish, too much polishing can wear down the silver plated finish. Between polishes, buffing with a dry microfibre cloth will preserve its beautiful, mirrored finish.
A silver cleaner or 'dip' can restore tarnished silver cutlery/flatware to its optimum condition. Ensure silver cutlery is only dipped momentarily and wash off the solution thoroughly with warm water.
To restore the finish on your silver plate we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Designing the Robert Welch way
Robert Radford Welch MBE, RDI was one of the most respected British designers of the 20th century. He believed that everyone should be able to use beautifully designed products in everyday life. After training as a silversmith at the Royal College of Art in London, he specialised in design for stainless steel, establishing a company in his own name in 1955.
Today, the company works to ensure its rich legacy remains an inspiration to the design team, whilst continuing to innovate in terms of technique and technology.
