Design Notes
Norton Bright cutlery is a classic design, elongated but featuring generously rounded heads. The design is balanced by teardrop shaped handles, pinched to a point. It is a distinct design, made up of definate forms.
Norton is Old English for 'North Settlement' and the pointed end of the handles allude to the shapes on the traditional compass rose.
This 3 piece sample set will allow you to try the weight and balance of this design for yourself and lay the table with it to check that the cutlery complements your other tableware.
The best way to choose cutlery is simply to try it. It's important that your cutlery is well balanced, comfortable to hold and also the appropriate size. If you are undecided and unable to visit one of our stores or retailers, try our cutlery sample service (within the UK), which allows you to try up-to three different cutlery collections at home.
Norton Bright cutlery is part of Cutlery Collection 5.0 - All pieces in this collection are made from best quality 18/10 stainless steel, a slightly thinner gauge that gives each piece a lighter feel in the hand. All patterns in this collection are sold at one price.

Care & Need to Know
We recommend washing your cutlery/flatware in the dishwasher:
• Wash on a short hot cycle 65°-75°C (150°-167°F)
• Use quality branded all in one dishwasher tablets*
• Keep Rinse Aid topped up and Salt (for hard water areas).
• Avoid washing with non-stainless steel metals (this can cause rust staining - especially on knives).
• Ensure the dishwasher filters are cleaned and use a proprietary dishwasher cleaner regularly.
*For UK customers we recommend Fairy Platinum Plus and for US customers Cascade Platinum Plus.
When washing your Cutlery/Flatware by hand:
Rinse cutlery/flatware to remove all traces of food as soon as possible after use. Wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non abrasive brush**. Try to avoid soaking your cutlery/flatware and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing.
**Always avoid scouring with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.
To restore your finish on your cutlery/flatware we recommend using a dry microfibre cloth.

Designing the Robert Welch way
Robert Radford Welch MBE, RDI was one of the most respected British designers of the 20th century. He believed that everyone should be able to use beautifully designed products in everyday life. After training as a silversmith at the Royal College of Art in London, he specialised in design for stainless steel, establishing a company in his own name in 1955.
Today, the company works to ensure its rich legacy remains an inspiration to the design team, whilst continuing to innovate in terms of technique and technology.
