CELEBRATING THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE WITH THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA

For the last seven decades, throughout the historic seventy-year reign of Her Majesty The Queen, Robert Welch Designs have been creating iconic pieces to enhance the enjoyment and ritual of a good cup of tea. We are best known for stainless steel cutlery today, but The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee provides the perfect opportunity to share our passion for the perfect pour.

Whilst the teatime meal has changed radically over the last seven decades, the one constant is the ritual of drinking tea. To bring us right up to date, we would also like to offer you a special classic tea set, which comprises of an all-stainless-steel: Tea Pot, Milk Jug, Sugar Bowl, and Tray as a time limited exclusive offer. The Drift Tea Collection incudes tea sets that are available in two sizes: ‘tea for two’ (450ml tea pot) or ‘tea for four’ (900ml tea pot).

Matching Barware, including champagne buckets, pitchers and stirrers are also available to really get the party started!

TO COMMEMORATE THE PLATINUM JUBILEE

On the eve of her Platinum Jubilee year, Her Majesty The Queen hosted a celebratory tea party and soon, as she marks 70-years on the throne, many of us will celebrate the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend with an afternoon tea party.

To commemorate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we are excited to announce a Limited Edition, Silver Plated Cake Server, engraved with The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Emblem, includes an authenticity card numbered from 1 to 70.

Due to unprecedented demand this product has now sold out.

ROBERT WELCH DESIGNS
OUR
LONG HISTORY OF TEA

In a sketchbook from the archive dated 1951-2, Robert Welch jots, “notes about making teapots” alongside sketches from museums, such as the Ashmolean and the V&A. On the pages immediately after these are Robert’s sketches relating to Elizabeth’s accession to the throne. These 1952 sketches show garlands made of the floral emblems of the United Kingdom, and crowns embellishing the letter ‘E’.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a reminder that Robert Welch Designs will also soon mark 70 years. Robert Welch established his studio at the Old Silk Mill in Chipping Campden in 1955 and whilst we have plans to mark that milestone, it is always good to reflect on our seven-decade design journey.
