Design Notes

The Airtwist glass range is a beautiful example of English full lead crystal. Inspired by antique glassware, all Robert Welch glassware is hand blown. Crafting the Airtwist glassware involves the highest degree of skill on the part of the glassblower. Therefore each individual glass is unique and the finished pieces may differ slightly from one another.

The full Airtwist range includes a wine glass, champagne flute, two sizes of goblet, cocktail or martini glass and a sherry glass.

Technical Information

The Glassware is hand blown in full lead crystal. Due to the traditional production methods used, minor imperfections may exist.

Designing the Robert Welch way

Designing the Robert Welch way

Robert Radford Welch MBE, RDI was one of the most respected British designers of the 20th century. He believed that everyone should be able to use beautifully designed products in everyday life. After training as a silversmith at the Royal College of Art in London, he specialised in design for stainless steel, establishing a company in his own name in 1955.

Today, the company works to ensure its rich legacy remains an inspiration to the design team, whilst continuing to innovate in terms of technique and technology.
