This exhibition will look at the inspiration and influences on company founder Robert Welch, his relationship with his customers, the commissions that he worked on and the period in which they were created.
It will explore the continuing appeal of Robert Welch's designs and how the company has adapted over the years while remaining true to his ideals about truth to materials.
On Saturday 19th July there will be a One-on-One event - Designing for Robert Welch - with Alice Welch (daughter of Robert who now runs the company with her brother, Rupert) and Kit de Bretton Gordon (Head Designer at Robert Welch). They will talk and answer questions about an object chosen from the exhibition. These events last about half an hour.
Please note that this event must be booked in advance direct with the Court Barn Museum on 01386 841951, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Museum in person.
